Modern Offshore Support Vessels : Advanced Technology for Safe, Efficient, and Reliable Offshore Operations
Modern Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs) have become one of the most critical assets in supporting offshore oil & gas, marine logistics, subsea operations, offshore construction, and energy transportation activities around the world. As offshore operations move into deeper waters and more challenging environments, the role of OSVs continues to evolve from conventional supply vessels into highly advanced multi-purpose offshore platforms equipped with modern technology, integrated operational systems, and enhanced safety capabilities.

Using AI, digitalisation and connectivity to create smart offshore vessels
Digitalisation is creating smart offshore support vessels, with artificial intelligence enabling autonomous deck machinery to be used and enhanced fuel and engineroom monitoring. Developments in artificial intelligence (AI), digitalisation and connectivity are enabling owners to monitor fuel consumption and emissions, produce vessel reports, and it will soon be used to operate critical machinery autonomously. These developments will require high levels of offshore connectivity through hybrid communications networks using satellite constellations and 4G/5G.
